F0685Treatment/Care for Dependent ADLs

F0685 requires the facility to provide care and services so that a resident's abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs) do not diminish unless clinically unavoidable, and that dependent residents receive the services needed to maintain function and hygiene.

Common Deficiency Examples

  • ADL assistance not provided per the care plan (bathing, grooming, toileting)
  • Resident's ADL decline not clinically explained or addressed
  • Restorative/rehabilitative interventions in the care plan not implemented
  • Delayed response to ADL assistance requests
